Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to learn hands-on about building projects across North America, with a focus on the mission nobody gets hurt. You’ll learn safety programs, regulations, and site practices while supporting teams in the field.

You will relocate to project sites as needed, gain exposure to project safety policy development, audits, and training, and contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork through an immersive internship within the DHO Safety group.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Experience with Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Safety Program development and site safety policies.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Assist in establishing safe working conditions and reporting performance metrics.
• Review work plans for safety conformance and support audits and trainings.
• Travel or relocate to project sites as required.
