Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to support the Project Safety Program across North America. You will help develop site safety policies, monitor project activities for compliance, and assist in safety audits and training.

The role offers hands-on learning in construction health and safety with opportunities to travel to various project sites. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, with knowledge of OSHA requirements and strong communication

Qualifications

Pursuing degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
Knowledge of Federal and OSHA requirements
Working knowledge of computers with Word and Excel
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good attention to detail
Strong work ethic; willingness to do what it takes
Able to work with all levels of the organization
Ability to travel and relocate as required
Ability to access construction sites in varying climates

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including site safety policies and procedures
Monitor construction project activities ensuring compliance with regulations, client and company policies
Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in tracking and reporting performance issues
Review project work plans for conformance with safety standards and assist in audits and training
Travel and relocate as required for projects and field assignments
