Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) seeks a Retail Merchandising Sales Representative to drive sales at assigned customer locations, including ordering products, stocking shelves, and executing resets and remodels.

You will travel within the region and collaborate with Shelf Services teams to ensure program adherence. The role requires 1 year of related experience in retail or distribution, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of related experience in Retail or Distribution.
• Prior sales and customer service experience in a retail setting.
• Food-related product experience desired.
• Bilingual – Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Influence customer orders by identifying sales opportunities and recommending item discontinuations. Place orders, merchandise products, hang shelf tags, and set promotional materials.
• Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers and merchandising projects, executing plans during visits and providing feedback to UNFI stakeholders.
• Rotate stock, remove out-of-code items, and process returns/credits per policy and agreements.
• Regularly communicate with UNFI personnel on competitor activity, sales opportunities, and customer requests.
• Collaborate with supervisors or account managers to develop action plans for projects and meet deadlines and budgets.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in planning and selling UNFI products and services.
• Extensive travel could be required within the assigned area.
