Job summary

Southern Arkansas University is seeking a Field Representative to support current survey operations. Your home serves as the duty station and you will travel within your local area to conduct interviews and collect data.

You will explain survey materials, ask questions as written, and accurately enter information on a laptop or paper forms, while maintaining records of hours, miles, and reimbursements. Training is required, in person or online.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 in Federal Service.
• OR four years of education above high school.
• Experience includes in-person/phone communication, and using a mobile device or computer.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with respondents, supervisors, and others as appropriate.
• Explain survey purpose, ask questions, and record data accurately.

This vacancy is for a Field Representative (FR) position supporting current survey operations. Applicants selected will have their home as their Duty Station and will be required to travel throughout their local area.

Responsibilities

• Conducts interviews primarily in person (door to door) and when requested may conduct phone interviews to collect survey or census data as required within an assigned geographic area.
• Communicates with respondents, supervisors, and other persons as appropriate.
• Understands survey materials in order to explain the purpose of surveys, ask questions as worded on the questionnaire or survey instrument, and enters accurate and complete information into a laptop computer or onto survey forms.
• Maintains personal payroll records that reflect hours worked, miles driven, and reimbursements for travel and communications claimed.
• Completes and attends training as necessary in-person or online.

Qualfications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes: (1) communicating with clients, respondents, customers, and/or coworkers in person and/or by telephone, (2) using a device such as a smart phone, tablet, or computer/laptop (3) completing work/personal tasks in a timely manner.

OR

4 years of education above high school.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
