Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in San Diego, CA region seeks a Field Reimbursement Manager to educate healthcare providers on reimbursement processes and facilitate access to therapies. You will collaborate with sales, medical science, and PECS teams to resolve access issues and optimize payer strategies.

The role requires up to 75% travel, strong account management, and deep reimbursement expertise across pharmacy and medical benefits. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business/public administration; MBA or MPH preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Account management and/or reimbursement experience in the provider office setting.
• Expertise with pharmacy and medical buy & bill, coding, billing, prior authorizations, and appeals processes.
• Reimbursement or relevant managed care experience.
• Ability to collaborate across a matrix organization.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; customer-facing experience.
• Experience with patient support HUB services.
• Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards.
• Permanent residence in the listed territory.

Responsibilities

• Educate HCPs on reimbursement processes, claims submissions, procedures, and coding requirements of payer organizations.
• Effectively collaborate with field support team members and serve as access, fulfillment, and reimbursement expert for the local team.
• Lead compliant access and fulfillment discussions with field support team members.
• Utilize data and account management skills to proactively address access barriers.
• Act with urgency and accountability to address critical access and affordability issues for patients.
• Partner with managed care colleagues to understand current policies and potential changes.
• Conduct field-based reimbursement and access support, education and problem-solving.
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers in all assigned accounts.
• Manage territory logistics, routing, and account business planning.
• Maintain and grow knowledge of market dynamics including coverage and coding requirements.
• Grow knowledge of hub and specialty distribution channels to improve patient support.
• Collaborate with internal J&J departments and serve as subject matter expert on education and insights across payer types.
• Execute business in accordance with highest ethical, legal, and compliance standards.
