Job summary

MISTRAS Group in Houston seeks dedicated RT Assistants for full-time positions. The Assistant Technician will support Level II NDE Technicians with designated NDT methods, gain experience, and contribute to safety, quality, and environmental protection.

Work includes setting up equipment, performing maintenance, documenting services, and adhering to company policies. Travel may be required; candidates must have a valid TWIC and 40-hour Radiation Safety Certification.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid 40-hour Radiation Safety Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid TWIC Card.
• Ability to travel occasionally for out-of-town or overnight work.
• Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications.
• Must be able to communicate with clients, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with setting up and tearing down of equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations, and overall upkeep of equipment and facilities.
• Assist with proper documentation and reports of services provided.
• Learn and abide by company policies and procedures.
• Operate radiographic equipment under the direct visual watch and supervision of a radiographer or radiographic instructor.
• Maintain surveillance and control of industrial radiographic equipment at all times.
