Job summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Technician to support Level II NDE Technicians in the Burr Ridge facility. You will help set up and tear down equipment, perform routine maintenance, and assist with documentation of services while learning designated NDT methods.

The role requires clear communication, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to travel as needed. A high school diploma and a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course are required, with a state radiographer card preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 40 hour Radiation Safety Course certificate of completion.
• State Industrial Radiographer’s Card or IRRSP Card preferred.
• Able to read technical documents and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with setting up and tearing down of equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations, and upkeep of equipment and facilities.
• Assist with proper documentation and reports of services provided.
• Learn and abide by company policies and procedures.
• Operate radiographic equipment only under direct supervision.
• Maintain surveillance of radiographic equipment during use and control access to restricted areas.
• Notify safety management in the event of an incident and provide assistance.
• Meet NRC criteria for trustworthiness and reliability.
