Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking an experienced Utility-Scale Field Quality Control Representative to support quality assurance on power, renewable energy, transmission, and substation projects across the United States. The role is field-based with 100% travel to active project sites and a salary range of $90k–$120k DOE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of quality control, quality assurance, inspection, or field construction experience in heavy civil, underground utilities, or utility-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods and testing procedures.
• Experience reading and interpreting project plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with field operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections to verify work complies with project specs, drawings, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Inspect heavy civil, earthwork, underground utilities, trenching, foundations, and HDD activities as applicable.
• Coordinate material testing, field testing, and third-party inspection activities.
• Document inspection results, test reports, deficiencies, corrective actions, and quality records.
• Maintain organized project quality documentation and support project turnover requirements.
