Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a Field Buyer to manage field requisitions, obtain quotes, oversee receiving and inventory, and ensure compliance with company policies while traveling to multiple sites.

This on-site role requires reporting to the workplace daily, coordinating with site management, expeditors, and managers to align deliveries with project needs and maintain inventory integrity.

Applicants should have at least two years of construction experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Two years of construction experience minimum.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Read, interpret blueprints and contracts.
• Ability to coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage the field requisition process.
• Obtain competitive quotes for material requisitions at the field level.
• Oversee field receiving and inventory control.
• Ensure POIRs are completed timely.
• Ensure requisitions and purchases comply with policies.
• Setup and manage local vendor accounts including required documentation (W9 and confidentiality agreements).
• Coordinate with site management for receiving/staging areas for materials.
• Ensure materials are stored per vendor requirements.
• Reconcile Concur credit card statements weekly with supporting documents.
• Coordinate with Laydown Yard Foreman and Construction Managers to maintain inventory levels.
• Procure inventory for warehouse/site.
• Communicate with Corporate Office and onsite management as main point of contact.
• Coordinate with Expeditor for delivery dates.
• Provide backup support for the Materials Receiver.
