Job summary

Travelers in Maryland is seeking a Technical Specialist, Outside Property, to handle complex 1st party property claims with in-person inspections at customers’ residences and properties. You will leverage your claims management and estimating skills and provide guidance to Claim Reps and Associates.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and four years of property claim experience, with an active adjuster license if applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Four years of property claim experience in personal and business lines.
• Active adjuster license, where applicable.
• Experience with claims management and estimating software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex situations, exercise sound judgement, and make effective decisions independently.
• Willingness to travel and work in Maryland area.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage, investigate, and document highly complex 1st party property claims.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, and third-party vendors.
• Investigate and evaluate all relevant facts and determine coverage per policy terms.
• Establish accurate scope of damages and prepare estimates.
• Provide timely and professional communication to stakeholders.
• Negotiate settlements within authority.
• Maintain records in claim management systems.
• May train Claim Professionals on claim systems.
• Adapt to new technology and AI tool rollouts.
