Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Property Claims Field Adjuster to handle homeowner property field claims in the Tacoma metro area. You must be located within this metro area and a company fleet vehicle is provided with the position, with option for personal use.

This is primarily field-based (about 80%), with occasional travel to offices for meetings, training, and events. You will investigate claims, conduct on-site inspections, negotiate with insureds and claimants, and explain policy

Qualifications

• Customer-driven solutions experience.
• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
• Experience handling moderately complex claims.
• Knowledge of casualty coverages and the claim handling process.
• Familiarity with Xactimate (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, and others.
• Identifies complex issues and seeks assistance as needed; handles claims in good faith.
• Handles 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, negotiates with insureds and claimants.
• Responds to customer inquiries and closes files as appropriate.
• Interprets policies and endorsements and applies coverage to assigned losses.
