Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Field Claims Adjuster for homeowner property claims in the Tacoma metro area. You will spend about 80% of your time in the field, directly engaging customers, with occasional travel to offices for meetings and training.

A company fleet vehicle is provided, with possible personal use. Position compensation ranges from $64,000 to $106,000 annually, with relocation support for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims.
• Knowledge of casualty coverages and claim handling processes.
• Customer-driven solutions and excellent service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors and others.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims across multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages and negotiates settlements with insureds and attorneys.
• Interprets policy documents and applies coverages to assigned losses.
• Keeps all parties informed on claim process and status; responds to inquiries.
• May travel to office locations for meetings and training as needed.
