Job summary

Farmers Insurance is seeking a Field Adjuster to assess property damage, determine liability, and negotiate settlements across central Louisiana. You will work both remotely and in the field, traveling to policyholder locations as needed.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, communication, and investigative skills, with additional pay during catastrophe deployments and opportunities for growth within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service experience, preferably in retail.
• Construction or insurance experience is desirable and preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements.
• Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine claims-related damage and write estimates.
• Evaluate and report on potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson to state and industry agencies.
• Interact with multiple stakeholders, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, and investigators.
