Job summary

National General is seeking a Field Property Adjuster to independently inspect property damages, assess coverage, and guide customers from loss to resolution across central/southern New Jersey. This role blends in-person fieldwork with virtual claims handling, using Xactimate to evaluate weather-related damages and negotiate settlements.

Qualifications

• Field adjuster role requiring travel across NJ counties.
• Experience with estimating damages and first-party homeowners losses.
• Proficient with Xactimate and claims handling procedures.
• Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently with leadership collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Posesses a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
• Posesses strong estimating fundamentals in order to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st party homeowners’ losses with complexity
• Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines
• Evaluates settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option
• Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files across multiple lines
