Job summary

Heritage Insurance is hiring a Field Adjuster for the Central New Jersey territory, operating as a fully remote role. The position focuses on moderate-complexity, first-party property claims with on-site inspections and fair settlements.

You will travel within the territory, interact with policyholders, contractors, and professionals, and handle claims from start to finish. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of property claims experience, NJ licensing, and strong negotiation and communication

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of property claims experience, including field adjusting.
• New Jersey adjuster licensing must be obtained and maintained.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
• Ability to independently investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve property claims.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections, with accurate scoping and written estimates.
• Investigate and evaluate first-party property claims for coverage and damages.
• Review policies and contracts to evaluate claim validity and coverage.
• Communicate professionally and empathetically with policyholders and professionals.
• Use claims estimating tools to prepare, review, and validate estimates.
• Maintain complete claim documentation and reserves as information evolves.
• Travel throughout the territory to meet policyholders and contractors.
