Job summary

RES is seeking a Project Safety Manager I to implement the Safety Management System (SMS) across wind, solar, substation, transmission, and energy storage projects in the US or Canada. You will lead safety initiatives, coordinate audits, and drive incident investigations with a focus on continuous improvement and regulatory adherence.

The role requires coaching, strong communication, and collaboration with project teams and clients, ensuring safety is integrated into every work activity on site.

Qualifications

Proven safety leadership and coaching in complex projects.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
Experience leading incident investigations and corrective actions.
Excellent communication with project teams and clients.

Responsibilities

Lead safety initiatives and audits on wind, solar, substation, or transmission sites.
Develop site-specific safety documentation (JSA, Site Rules, SOPs).
Coordinate regulatory inspections and client audits as liaison to HSQE.
Oversee Permit to Work and incident reporting processes.
Direct safety trainings and safety meeting facilitation.
Monitor weather and emergency response planning; drive corrective actions.
