Job summary

Utilities One Group is seeking a Field Project Manager - Aerial Construction Specialist in Columbus, OH. This on-site leadership role oversees both in-house and contractor aerial crews, coordinating field execution, safety, permits, locates, and vendor relations to ensure timely project completion and profitability.

You will inspect work, train crews, resolve technical challenges, review project scope, and communicate with management, clients, and jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license; safe driving record required.
• Strong knowledge of aerial fiber construction and aerial plant installation.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, construction standards and permit requirements.
• Understanding of aerial and underground design and construction for customer specs.
• Ability to train, guide, and support field crews to improve efficiency.
• Ability to lift ~50 lb, climb ladders, and work in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Conduct job site inspections to verify work quality, progress, and safety.
• Inspect crew equipment; ensure maintenance and safety compliance.
• Provide training and guidance to crews to improve performance and adherence to procedures.
• Assist field crews with technical and operational challenges to avoid delays.
• Review projects for scope, constructability and sequencing.
• Coordinate pre-construction walks with vendors and internal teams.
• Verify locate ticket status and ensure valid locates before excavation.
• Coordinate MOT needs and approvals with management.
• Ensure compliance with drilling, depth, and HOA requirements.
• Serve as on-site operational leader and coordinate field teams and vendors.
