Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I to support field coordination across project teams in Iowa. This role requires full-time on-site presence at assigned project sites within a 90-mile radius of Coralville and collaboration with diverse staff to resolve field issues.

The position emphasizes reviewing plans, coordinating submittals, RFIs, permits, and documentation, plus mentoring field engineers and ensuring safety and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field.
• Minimum two years construction experience.
• Detail-oriented with multitasking ability.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and details for subcontractors and crafts.
• Maintain pre-construction quality plan and permits management.
• Develop and maintain tracking lists and logs.
• Manage submittals, RFIs and change orders.
• Ensure safety and compliance for all team members.
• Mentor field engineers and coordinate with project team.
• Track schedule and ensure on-time completion.
