Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I to coordinate with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. The role focuses on reviewing project plans, resolving field coordination issues, and ensuring quality management throughout construction.

The candidate will oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, documentation, and closeout procedures while mentoring field engineers and maintaining project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum of two years related construction experience.
• Detail orientation to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks; basic understanding of construction law.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons.
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan.
• Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expenses.
• Develop and maintain material tracking lists, inspection logs, and non-conformance reports.
• Manage, create, and distribute contract documents; post revisions and updates to as-built documents.
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members; manage schedules.
