Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Engineer I to support field coordination, review plans, and resolve issues with project team members in an ever-changing environment. The role emphasizes professionalism, confidentiality, and proactive problem-solving on complex construction projects.

You will implement quality plans, manage permits and submittals, mentor field staff, and help ensure schedules are met while maintaining safety and compliance across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum of two years related construction experience.
• Detail-oriented with strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specs for subcontractors and craft persons.
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan.
• Obtain permits; manage fee payments and expenses.
• Develop and maintain material tracking and inspection logs.
• Manage submittals and ensure timely processing with architects.
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members.
• Mentor field engineers and manage timelines.
