Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, including field inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and oversee contractor selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to complete site activities aligned with project objectives, priorities, and contracts, ensuring adherence to plans and specifications. Success is measured by safety, cost, schedule, and quality.

• Serve as the on-site point of contact for construction and commissioning management.
• Oversee safety compliance, including site orientation, permits, safety analyses, toolbox meetings, audits, and HSES events.
• Verify receipt and inspection of materials and equipment, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
• Manage all project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Manage and challenge external/internal suppliers to meet project goals and scope coverage.
• Expedite suppliers as needed to meet delivery goals.
• Maintain communication logs with external partners.
• Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays promptly.
• Manage construction and pre-commissioning activities, responding to RFIs within 48 hours if possible.
• Ensure adherence to the project execution plan, updating as needed.
• Manage internal and external communication following the communication plan.
• Support contract administration and assist during contractual disputes.
• Track and approve changes during project phases, maintaining logs and escalating issues as needed.
• Follow up and close action items from construction and commissioning reviews.
• Maintain knowledge of all project aspects to temporarily fill in for the Project Manager if required.
• Contribute to developing construction and commissioning strategies, including contracting, reviews, work breakdowns, and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
• Experience managing projects (a plus)
• Industrial gas experience (a plus)
