Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and select contractors. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to complete activities in accordance with project objectives, priorities, contracts, and specifications. Success is measured by safety performance, cost control, schedule adherence, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:
  • Serving as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Overseeing safety compliance including site orientation, permits, safety analyses, toolbox meetings, audits, and HSES events.
  • Managing receipt and inspection of materials and equipment, handling non-conformities, and material transfer to contractors.
  • Managing project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Managing external/internal suppliers, including EPCM, to meet project scope and goals.
  • Expediting suppliers to meet delivery targets.
  • Maintaining communication logs with external partners.
  • Developing and managing construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays.
  • Responding promptly to RFIs, managing project changes, and tracking action items.
  • Supporting contract administration and potential dispute resolution.
  • Maintaining knowledge of all project aspects to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years field construction or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Project management experience (a plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (a plus)
