Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, inspections, construction, commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and select vendors. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to complete site activities in alignment with project objectives, priorities, contracts, and specifications. Success is measured by safety, cost, schedule, and quality.

Responsibilities include:
  • Serving as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Overseeing safety compliance, including site orientation, work permits, safety meetings, audits, and events.
  • Managing receipt and inspection of materials, handling non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  • Managing project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Managing external/internal suppliers to meet project goals, scope coverage, and delivery timelines.
  • Developing and managing construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays.
  • Responding promptly to RFIs, maintaining project plans, and ensuring effective communication.
  • Supporting contract administration and managing change logs.
  • Closing action items and maintaining project knowledge to potentially fill in for the Project Manager.
  • Contributing to construction and commissioning strategies during project development.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Experience managing projects
  • Industrial gas experience
