Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and support contractor selection. The FPE leads site construction and commissioning teams to complete activities in line with project goals, ensuring safety, schedule, cost, and quality compliance.

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Oversee safety compliance, including site orientation, permits, safety analyses, toolbox meetings, audits, and events.
  • Verify receipt and inspection of materials and equipment, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  • Manage all project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and specifications are met.
  • Manage and challenge external/internal suppliers, including EPCMs, to meet project scope and goals.
  • Expedite deliveries and maintain communication logs with external partners.
  • Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays promptly.
  • Respond to RFIs promptly, ideally within 48 hours.
  • Ensure adherence to the project execution plan, updating as necessary.
  • Manage field communications, support contract administration, and track change orders.
  • Close out action items and maintain project knowledge to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
  • Influence construction and commissioning strategies through input during project development.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects (a plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (a plus)
