Job Description Summary

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, vendor FATs, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and support site construction and commissioning teams. Success metrics include safety, cost, schedule adherence, and quality assurance.

  • Serve as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Oversee safety compliance including site orientation, permits, safety analyses, toolbox meetings, and audits.
  • Verify receipt and inspection of materials, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  • Manage project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and specifications.
  • Manage and challenge external/internal suppliers to meet project scope and goals.
  • Expedite suppliers to meet delivery goals.
  • Maintain communication logs with external partners.
  • Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays.
  • Manage construction and pre-commissioning activities, respond to RFIs within 48 hours.
  • Follow and update the project execution plan.
  • Manage field communication among internal and external partners.
  • Support contract administration and assist during contractual disputes.
  • Track and approve changes, maintain a change log, escalate issues as needed.
  • Close action items promptly, review progress monthly.
  • Maintain knowledge of all project aspects to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
  • Provide input on construction and commissioning strategies during project development.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects (plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (plus)
