Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance in Lansing, Michigan is seeking a Field Premium Auditor to join our team. You will audit insured records, determine exposure classifications, and provide reports to Underwriting, with travel across the assigned territory and coordination with agents and insureds.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and either completion or pursuit of the Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) designation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• In process of completing the Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) designation.
• Ability to drive an automobile, possess a valid driver license and maintain a driving record.

Responsibilities

• Audit insured records to determine exposure classifications and premium basis and provide reports to Underwriting.
• Determine proper exposure classification, premium basis and scope of operations for assigned policies.
• Report and discuss exposures to determine underwriting eligibility and acceptability.
• Communicate with claims and underwriting associates, appointed agents and insureds.
• Make recommendations to Underwriting to terminate coverage based on exposure to loss.
• Manage territory by scheduling audits to maximize completed audits.
• Establish weekly agenda of scheduled appointments.
