Job summary

Sigma Technologies, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Power Designer for field and remote work. You will own overhead pole design from field data collection to construction-ready deliverables, with travel across multiple regions as project needs require.

Responsibilities include field surveys, pole loading analysis, NESC compliance, and development of complete design packages using CAD/MicroStation and DDS/Katapult. Regular fieldwork and overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• 1+ year in power distribution design or make-ready/joint-use design; 2+ years preferred.
• Experience performing field data collection to support design work.
• Experience applying NESC standards, clearance analysis, and pole loading concepts.
• CAD or MicroStation proficiency; DDS, Katapult, O-Calc or similar tools preferred.
• Ability to work independently in the field and translate conditions into designs.

Responsibilities

• Perform field data collection, pole walkouts, and field surveys.
• Verify ownership, attachment types, heights, spans, and equipment in the field.
• Develop overhead distribution and make-ready designs compliant with NESC.
• Evaluate field conditions for make-ready, attachments, and replacements.
• Produce complete construction-ready design packages.
• Use DDS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, and related systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and quality teams.
