Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks a skilled Pipe Layer to perform underground water and sewer pipe installation on military installations, including diggings trenches, setting grades, and connecting pipe systems.

Role requires one year of pipe laying experience, a valid driver's license, and U.S. citizenship. Work environment involves outdoor construction and adherence to safety standards. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of verifiable experience as a pipe layer.
• Must work well with others and participate on a crew.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Must be a United States Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Observe all Federal, State and Company safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Perform physical construction including digging ditches or trenches, backfilling excavations, and compacting and leveling earth to grade specifications.
• Set grade using a grade rod, use a transit to check alignment and grade.
• Connect different pipe types and sizes and install joints and restraints.
• Install manhole frames and covers and perform trenching tasks.
• Load, unload, and distribute utility materials according to project plans.
• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate hazards.
