Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year (1) verifiable pipe layer experience.
• Must work well with others and be a crew member.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• US citizenship required.
• Must complete OSHA safety training as required.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety rules and regulations.
• Perform trenching, backfilling, and earthwork to grade specifications.
• Cut and bevel PVC and DIP pipe for installation.
• Set grade with lasers, rods, and transit; check alignment and grade.
• Connect different pipe types and sizes with proper gaskets and lubrication.
• Follow construction plans and coordinate with foreman for pipe routing.
• Signal operators to coordinate machine movements.
• Install pipe fittings and restraint mechanisms.
• Backfill and compact backfill to project specs.
• Layout trench boxes and install pipes using appropriate tools.
• Perform taps and drills on water pipes up to 2 inches.
• Complete manhole installations and associated joints.
