Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking skilled pipe layer personnel to install and maintain water and sewer systems on military installations. You will perform trenching, pipe fitting, grade setting with lasers, and maintain safety standards while working with a crew.

The role requires physical labor, knowledge of PVC/DIP piping, and the ability to read construction plans. US citizenship and OSHA training are mandatory; federal contracts apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of verifiable pipe layer experience.
• Work well with others and participate on a crew.
• Ability to train, communicate and aid others in pipe laying activities.
• Valid Driver's License.
• United States Citizenship.
• Must pass Federal OSHA or State mandated safety training.

Responsibilities

• Observes all Federal, State and Company safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Performs pipe laying including digging trenches and backfilling.
• Cuts PVC and DIP pipe to length and bevels ends for installation.
• Sets grade and alignment using pipe lasers and transit.
• Connects pipe fittings and installs restraints and bell joint systems.
• Loads, unloads, and distributes utility materials per project plans and specs.
• Cleans construction sites to eliminate hazards.
