Job summary

Uniti Fiber seeks an Outside Plant Engineer to design and engineer outside plant facilities for fiber and copper networks. You will spend about 70% of your time in the field and 30% in the office, coordinating with teams to develop, construct and maintain network infrastructure.

Strong communication, CAD/engineering tool experience, and the ability to travel overnight up to 25% are essential to deliver cost-effective, scalable solutions for customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong and effective technical communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to be a self-starter, able to work with little guidance.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Engineer/design outside plant facilities including fiber and copper.
• Assist in planning, analysis, design and engineering of outside plant network structures and facilities.
• Organize complex activities for development, construction, implementation, and maintenance of outside plant projects.
• Utilize sound engineering practices and company objectives to resolve issues creatively and effectively.
• Communicate clearly to establish and maintain positive, productive working relationships and drive projects to completion.
• Engineer/Design projects to ensure cost-effective utilization of materials and labor.
• Perform administrative work relating to projects and assignments.
• Assess situations, collaborate, identify key issues, and solve complex problems.
• Conduct 70% of work in the field and 30% in the office on average.
