Job summary

Uniti is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer to develop and implement fiber and copper infrastructure for our customers. You will analyze data, plan and design outside plant facilities, and manage complex field-to-office projects while delivering cost-effective solutions.

Primary work includes 70% fieldwork and 30% office tasks with travel up to 25%. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and a background in telecom engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong and effective technical communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Self-starting with minimal guidance and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Engineer/design outside plant facilities including fiber and copper.
• Plan, analyze, design and engineer outside plant network structures and facilities.
• Organize complex activities for the development, construction, implementation, and maintenance of outside plant engineering projects.
• Utilize sound engineering practices and company objectives to resolve issues in a creative and effective way.
• Skillfully communicate to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships and drive projects to completion.
• Engineer/Design projects to ensure cost-effective utilization of materials and labor.
• Perform administrative work relating to projects and assignments.
• Assess situations, collaborate, identify key issues, and solve complex problems.
• Conduct 70% of work in the field and 30% in the office on average (varies per market).
