Job summary

Hilcorp Energy is seeking a field technician responsible for monitoring and operating wells and surface equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, and tanks. The role emphasizes safety, reliable data recording, and routine maintenance to support daily production.

The position requires a minimum of four years of oilfield experience, ability to work with minimal supervision, and the need to adhere to SPCC plans and safety policies while coordinating with field teams.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years minimum oilfield experience.
• Ability to work established work schedule.
• Requires less supervision in the performance of routine duties.
• Demonstrates understanding of how oil/gas facilities work from wells to sales lines.
• Demonstrates ability to work unsupervised and anticipate problems.
• Maintains safe, environmentally sound operations and accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Gauges and records tanks and gas meters.
• Opens and closes valves and tank hatches.
• Inspects equipment for safety problems and repairs as needed.
• Reads gauges to determine flow rates and tank contents.
• Maintains logs of meter readings, test results and adjustments.
• Shuts down equipment during emergencies as directed.
• May work at multiple fields.
• Adheres to SPCC and company safety policies.
