Job summary

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a Training/Instructional Design professional to design and manage emergency field operations training programs. You will coordinate delivery, stay current with trends, and work with planners to align programs with response plans.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in emergency management, public health, disaster management, emergency preparedness/administration, public administration, or related field with 1 year of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience in the listed areas, or a satisfactory equivalent combo.
• Minimum of 1 year of full-time professional experience in emergency preparedness/management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop emergency field operations training programs and materials.
• Coordinate and manage delivery of training programs.
• Maintain understanding of training trends and best practices.
• Collaborate with planners and stakeholders to keep programs up to date with response plans.
• Develop and implement a training program evaluation framework.
• Monitor employee performance and compliance to training programs.
• Serve as lead facilitator and recruit/train facilitators.
• Support facilitator evaluation initiatives.
• Serve in an emergency role for public health events as needed.
• Participate in bureau-led drills and exercises.
