Job summary

The Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR) within the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a skilled program professional to support strategic initiatives and executive communications. You will engage with agency leadership, synthesize complex information for reports, and help manage timelines and deliverables across divisions.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in public health emergency preparedness or related fields, strong writing and coordination abilities,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in emergency management, public health, disaster management, emergency preparedness/administration, public administration, or related field with 1 year of professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in relevant areas.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 1 year in the described areas.

Responsibilities

• Manage or support special projects and strategic initiatives for the division.
• Lead preparation for and attend high-level meetings with agency leadership and stakeholders.
• Track and ensure Deputy Commissioner review and approval of division documents.
