Job summary

WEC Energy Group subsidiary PGL seeks Operations Supervisors for our North, Central, and 107th St. locations. Supervisors oversee internal and contracted resources, managing construction, design, planning and scheduling for transmission and distribution systems.

Prioritizing safety, efficiency, and timely service, they ensure customer needs are met while supervising field operations. The role requires strong leadership, experience in operations, and ability to coordinate across teams,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant field experience.
• 5–10 years in distribution/construction operations or supervision of staff.
• Good working knowledge of union contracts and employee relations.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with employees, contractors and community groups.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and conduct safety meetings and trainings.
• Manage work assignments to control overtime and costs while maintaining service.
• Conduct daily tailgate sessions to review work and safety.
• Motivate and engage staff to improve efficiency and safety.
• Coach, counsel and train employees; uphold disciplinary processes.
• Apply labor contracts to scheduling and performance decisions.
• Evaluate performance and conduct annual reviews.
• Ensure customer expectations are met with timely, quality work.
• Supervise customer-directed work to meet negotiated dates.
• Coordinate outages communication with customers.
• Resolve customer concerns and questions.
• Coordinate storm/restoration and field issue communication.
• Manage emergency work within a defined area.
• Audit work from design to construction; provide process feedback.
• Visit sites to observe crews; enforce safety and PPE usage.
• Ensure compliance with construction standards and contract provisions.
• Manage area budget and approve contractor invoices.
• Build relationships with unions, customers and agencies.
• Promote inclusive workforce and team engagement.
• Work with customers to identify needs and issues proactively.
• Address complaints about crew/contractor performance.
• Represent company in community activities and industry groups.
