Job summary

Wind Energy Transmission Texas, LLC seeks a Field Operations Supervisor in Big Spring, TX to oversee substation technicians, right of way teams, and contractors. You will plan and schedule annual outages, manage safety programs, and ensure NERC compliance across operations.

The role requires strong leadership, 10+ years in transmission, and supervisory experience, with ERCOT/NERC knowledge. You will report to the Field Operations Manager and coordinate across departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; engineering degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum 10 years in transmission maintenance or construction.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with ERCOT nodal protocols and operating guides.
• Experience with NERC compliance reporting and documentation.
• Experience with substation equipment (breakers, transformers, switches).
• Experience with protection and control equipment (SEL/GE relays, RTUs).
• Coursework or training such as OSHA 30, NESC, NETA, or SEL University preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field staff and contractors in Big Spring, TX office.
• Plan and schedule annual substation maintenance and inspections.
• Coordinate transmission line maintenance and outages.
• Ensure safe operation and compliance with NERC requirements.
• Manage budgets, resources, and project turnovers.
• Lead safety meetings and review risk assessments and plans.
• Coordinate with internal departments (accounting, IT, planning).
