Job summary

Innovee Consulting LLC is seeking a Field Operations Specialist to support Brooklyn and Bronx IT operations. The role involves validating daily equipment operations, installing UPS/PDU connections, maintaining hardware inventories, and ensuring clean, organized IT rooms across multiple NYC boroughs.

You will coordinate with ACS and vendor teams for hardware replacements, perform rack and stack tasks, and assist with commissioning of environmental monitoring devices and network patches.

Qualifications

• 5+ years proven experience in Field Operations IT.
• Experience in managing MDF and IDF technology rooms.
• Experience with IT infrastructure - Windows Servers, VMware, Cisco networking, Wi‑Fi, VOIP, on‑prem data centers, UPS, PDU, security systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment.
• Vendor management skills and ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Validate daily operations of equipment in IT operations rooms across boroughs.
• Install, connect and configure UPS and PDU for hardware equipment.
• Maintain updated inventory of hardware in IT operations rooms across boroughs.
• Maintain clean and organized IT operations rooms across boroughs.
• Act as point of contact with vendors for hardware deliveries and replacements.
• Collaborate with other infrastructure groups to resolve hardware issues.
• Perform hardware replacements for failed components in coordination with ACS groups and vendors.
• Rack and stack servers, switches, routers, and appliances as required.
• Perform commissioning of UPS, PDU, and environmental monitoring devices.
• Perform network patching and connect patches to switches, routers, and data circuits.
• Coordinate circuit cutovers with NYC ACS and other groups.
• Un-rack and decommission retired hardware in refresh projects with coordination.

Scope Of Work

• Validate Daily Operations Of the Equipment installed in the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough
• Install, Connect and Configure Backup Power Supplies (UPS) and Power Distribution Units (PDU) to connect Hardware Equipment
• Maintain an updated inventory Of all Hardware Equipment Installed in the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough
• Maintain clean and organized the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough
• Act as a Point of Contact with Vendors for all Hardware Equipment Installed in the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough for equipment deliveries and equipment replacement
• Work in conjunction with other Infrastructure groups to identify and resolve any issues affecting the Hardware Equipment installed in the IT Operations Rooms in offices located across the assigned Borough
• Perform Hardware Equipment Replacement for failed components in coordination with ACS Infrastructure Groups and Product Vendors (Hard Disk, Power Supplies, RMAs)
• Rack and Stack Hardware Equipment (Servers, Switches, Routers, Hardware Appliances, Wireless Access Points) as required
• Perform Commissioning Of UPS, PDU, Environmental Monitoring Devices (Cooling, Humidity)
• Perform Network Patching (Connecting Patch Cords to Switches, Routers, Data Circuit CPE, Servers, Hardware Appliances)
• Completing Circuit Cutovers in coordination with NYC OTI and ACS Infrastructure Network and Telecom Groups
• Un-rack and remove retired hardware part Of Refresh Projects and follow the Decommission process in coordination with Directors of Infrastructure and Asset Management

Vendor Qualifications

• Preferably 5 years proven experience as Field Operations in Information Technology
• Experience in managing MDF and IDF technology rooms
• Experience working with various tools (e.% MS Office including Project, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Teams, PPM, SharePoint)
• Working knowledge Of IT Infrastructure - Windows Servers, VMware, Cisco Network Gears, Wi-Fi, VOIP, on prem Datacenter Center, Desktop, laptops, Smartphones, EPL Data circuits, UPS, PDU, Security surveillance systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and perform in a high-paced/high-pressure environment
• Ability to work independently or within a group to solve complex problems.
• Strong team player with service-oriented attitude and customer focus
• Vendor management skills
• Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 501bs
• Must be able to travel as needed between 37 ACS sites in NYC 5 Boroughs including 24x7x365 sites Children's Center and 2 Secure Detention Center facilities
