Job summary

Industrial Supply in Salt Lake City seeks a Branch Operations Support Specialist to assist branch supervisors and territory managers. Based in Salt Lake City, you will visit assigned branches, follow established processes, support training, review reports, and contribute to improvement plans.

You will travel regularly to branches across the region, with overnight stays for out-of-state locations, and help drive lean practices, standard work, and accuracy in inventory and delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in branch operations, warehousing, or related support role.
• Basic lean practices knowledge; willing to learn company methods.
• Excel, email, and standard reports; ability to learn ERP/warehouse systems.
• Ability to read operational reports, document findings, and follow action plans.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills with diverse teams.
• Ability to travel regularly, with overnight stays; on-site visits.

Responsibilities

• Visit branches for three full days per visit to observe processes and assist improvements.
• Review KPI reports with supervisors and managers, flag gaps.
• Help implement action plans with tasks and deadlines; escalate barriers.
• Support receiving, putaway, inventory control, cycle counting, picking, packing, shipping, replenishment.
• Apply lean practices (5S, visual management, standard work) to keep operations organized.
• Provide training and coaching on processes, systems, and daily routines.
• Coordinate with branch supervisors and territory managers; report to sales VP as needed.
• Resolve inventory, delivery, and system issues with Salt Lake City distribution team.
• Prepare post-visit reports covering activities, KPI observations, open issues, follow-ups.
