Job summary

Flagger Force Traffic Control Services in Ashland, VA seeks an Area Supervisor to lead field operations, coach crews, and ensure safety and service quality. You will manage field personnel, support pre-construction planning, and maintain strong client relationships with DOTs and municipalities.

You will travel within the territory to observe performance, submit reports, and drive improvements while collaborating with Operations, Safety, and HR teams to meet company goals.

Qualifications

• Must pass Work Zone Leadership course with 80% or higher.
• Maintain valid internal training certifications through Flagger Force Academy.
• Must hold all required Department of Transportation qualifications for assigned territory.
• Valid driver's license in accordance with Flagger Force motor vehicle record standards.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Developed leadership skills including conflict resolution and coaching abilities.
• Ability to influence people and manage in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to assigned field personnel.
• Direct and oversee work of field employees across the territory.
• Participate in hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
• Build relationships with clients and municipalities with regular visits.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and ongoing coaching.
• Travel daily to job sites to observe operations and complete reports.
• Lead pre-construction management, client meetings, and planning.
• Serve as a resource for personnel, equipment, and operational needs.
• Collaborate with Departments to meet KPIs and drive improvements.
