Job summary

Empower Home Services is seeking a Field Operations Lead in California to supervise installation crews and office support, split 70/30 between office and field. You’ll drive schedules, manage permits, and ensure crews have materials and information to stay on track. You may work hands-on as a lead installer or site supervisor and coordinate across teams daily.

Expect 10+ hour days, travel between sites, and a focus on safety while maintaining high service standards for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years in residential solar or electrical installation, incl. 1 year as crew lead.
• Hands-on scheduling, dispatch, or operations coordination.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meet insurance requirements.
• OSHA 10 or ability to complete within 60 days.
• Knowledge of PV components, racking, and basic electrical work.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and scheduling/PM software (Jobflo+).
• Clear, professional English communication with customers and crews.
• Able to read site plans, single-line diagrams, and permits.
• Organize, prioritize, adjust plans to changing schedules.
• Work independently and in a team; safety-first mindset.
• Maintain integrity and confidentiality; build cooperative relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation crews from the branch, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching.
• Manage office staff for Permitting, Inspection, and Warehouse.
• Track timekeeping records for the branch.
• Update CRM daily with job status and progress.
• Coordinate with Warehouse on materials; oversee fleet as needed.
• Lead weekly Safety Meetings with field staff.
• Maintain schedules for installs, service calls, surveys, inspections.
• Coordinate crews and equipment to start jobs on time.
• Record time worked, drive time, and breaks accurately.
• Fill in as installer or electrical helper when short-staffed.
• Respond to service/warranty calls; document findings and fixes.
• Enforce site safety rules and fall protection.
• Ensure job notes, photos, and documents are up to date in Jobflo.
• Other duties as assigned.
