Job summary

PPS in California seeks a Lead Solar Field Service Technician to commission, maintain, troubleshoot and repair commercial and industrial solar systems. You will lead crews, work independently on live-system failures, and ensure safety and reliability on site.

This senior role requires proven commissioning or lead technician experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time. Competitive hourly pay and opportunities for advancement are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on C&I solar field experience.
• Proven lead, commissioning or senior service technician background.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing live system failures.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews and mentor junior technicians.
• Perform commissioning, preventative and corrective maintenance on C&I solar systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, controls and communication issues.
• Validate installation quality against drawings and OEM documentation.
• Produce commissioning reports, punch lists and corrective action documentation.
• Work directly with clients, utilities, EPCs and engineers.
