Job summary

Skape is building the Uber of landscaping, connecting homeowners with top-rated landscapers. The Operations Lead will own the on-the-ground flow from Book to lawn perfection, bridging software and field work in a fast-growing startup.

Based in NYC/Long Island, you’ll recruit and onboard professionals, enforce quality standards, manage escalations, and craft the playbook for future markets. Leadership-ready with field-services or logistics experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in operations, logistics, or marketplace operations.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the NYC/Long Island area.
• Experience managing a network of independent contractors or service providers.
• Comfort with ambiguity and building processes from scratch in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, vet, and onboard landscaping professionals in the NYC/Long Island market.
• Build and manage quality assurance processes including service audits and provider ratings.
• Handle customer escalations and resolve service issues with urgency and empathy.
• Develop and optimize operational processes for scheduling, routing, and job matching.
• Build relationships with local landscaping businesses and independent contractors.
• Track operational KPIs (fill rate, response time, NPS, provider churn) and report to leadership.
• Create training materials and onboarding programs for new landscapers joining the platform.
• Document everything so we can replicate the playbook for market expansion.
