Job summary

The Assistant Superintendent at Richard in Bedford, MA will oversee daily site construction activities, manage field personnel, and ensure the project remains on schedule and within budget while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires 0-3 years in general contracting, familiarity with RFIs, change orders, schedules, and coordination with home office and subcontractors. Housing allowance may be provided for relocations.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years’ experience with a general contracting company.
• A thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe and Bluebeam.
• Ability to develop, implement, and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, total project schedules, 3-week look-aheads, and other project documents.
• Ability to clearly communicate to home office, Owner, Subcontractors and experience running owner meetings.
• Availability to potentially work on any shift, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as hospital construction occurs at all hours.
• Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union required projects.
• Ability to pass a background check and a drug test.
• OSHA 30 Certified

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the day-to-day field operations.
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain project schedule, safety, budget and quality control efforts
• Plan and organize project work to assure all work is in place in accordance with contract documents.
• Monitor field productivity.
• Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
• Maintain customer relationships.
• Ensure timely and safe completion of project, while adhering to contract documents and project budgets
• Coordinate with Safety Manager to ensure projects are completed in accordance with safety goals.
