Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Assistant Field Operations Manager to supervise construction and infrastructure maintenance projects in Taneytown, MD. You will lead field crews, coordinate schedules, manage equipment, and uphold safety and quality standards on challenging environments.

The ideal candidate has a background in construction or industrial field operations, strong leadership, and the ability to read crane load charts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field crews or operational teams.
• Background in construction or infrastructure maintenance.
• Strong understanding of DOT and FRA regulations.
• Experience operating heavy equipment including cranes, trucks, and excavators.
• Ability to read crane load charts and rigging requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop employees.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn operational software.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to complete required safety training and certification programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field supervisors and crews on construction and maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate daily schedules, assignments, and equipment resources.
• Monitor project progress to ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance.
• Provide hands-on leadership and guidance in the field.
• Review work quality and regulatory compliance on sites.
• Coordinate heavy equipment operation and crane procedure adherence.
• Assist with hiring and workforce planning, mentoring staff.
• Support budgeting, payroll reporting, and project documentation.
• Maintain communication with customers, supervisors, field personnel and regulators.
