Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Assistant Field Operations Manager to oversee field personnel, coordinate heavy equipment operations, and support emergency recovery assignments in Taneytown, MD.

This hands-on leadership role involves coordinating supervisors and crews, managing equipment resources, and ensuring field projects are completed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience with heavy equipment, construction operations, equipment recovery, or emergency field services.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience supervising field employees or operational teams.
• Experience with heavy equipment, construction operations, or emergency field services.
• Strong understanding of DOT and FRA regulations.
• Ability to read crane load charts and rigging requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn operational software.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field supervisors and equipment operators during daily assignments and emergencies.
• Coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources to meet project requirements.
• Provide hands-on guidance in equipment recovery and heavy lifting operations.
• Assist with emergency response planning and field problem-solving.
• Conduct job site visits to monitor safety, work quality, and performance.
• Ensure proper use of cranes, excavators, trucks, rigging equipment, and other machinery.
• Review crane load charts, lifting plans, and rigging requirements.
• Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance or replacement as needed.
• Train, coach, and evaluate employees; support hiring and workforce development.
• Assist with labor planning, budgeting, payroll reporting, and forecasting.
