Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join the Field Operations Team on field/project-based work across the United States. The role requires coordinating with subcontractors, reviewing drawings, and helping manage schedules, costs, and safety.

You will support the Site Manager, assist in developing scopes, and may lead small projects. Travel to project sites is required; a passion for collaboration and delivering quality facilities is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with minimum three years construction experience.
• Experience in light/heavy industrial sector, especially food & beverage.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Strong people management skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and mobile devices.
• MS Project and other scheduling software a plus.
• Ability to think independently and manage without direction.

Responsibilities

• Function as the overall Site Manager during off rotation for the Site Manager.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval.
• Assist in the development and management of project schedule; prepare estimates for self-performed work and assist in overall project estimates.
• Manage small projects (under 5 million) as Site Manager when needed.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-startup to completion.
• Ensure safety and quality standards on site; enforce Gray’s safety program.
