Job summary

Worksource Oregon partners with a premier event production company serving the Portland metro area for over 40 years. This role leads field staff, coordinates event setup and load-out, and ensures safety, quality, and client satisfaction throughout each event.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in event production or related fields, experience leading crews, and a valid driver’s license with ability to operate a 26-foot box truck.

Qualifications

  • HSD/GED required.
  • 3–5 years in event production, construction, field operations, installation, logistics or similar hands-on work.
  • 1 year leading crews or temporary labor in a field environment.
  • Experience driving a 26 ft box truck and towing trailers; valid license.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; safety-focused.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities; patience and diplomacy.
  • Flexible availability including early mornings, late nights, weekends; some days >8 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Lead WCEP field staff and temporary labor at each event with clear direction and accountability.
  • Review event orders and production requirements; mobilize people, equipment, transportation and resources.
  • Coordinate setup, production and load-out with high safety and quality standards.
  • Drive and maneuver a 26-foot box truck through Portland streets and tight spaces.
  • Load/unload equipment and participate in setup/teardown and other physical tasks.
  • Collaborate with clients, venues, vendors, operations, and field crews to meet expectations.
  • Assess changing conditions and solve problems in real time while prioritizing safety and the event objective.

Job description

Worksource Oregon is partnering with a premier event production company who has been servicing the Portland Metro area for over 40 years. Their dedicated team of designers, fabricators, and installers are dedicated to ensuring a memorable and flawless customer experience with their events!

JOB DUTIES
  • - Lead WCEP field staff & temporary labor assigned to each event, providing clear direction, maintaining accountability & keeping the team moving toward the desired outcome
  • - Review event orders & production requirements & prepare the people, equipment, transportation and resources necessary for successful execution
  • - Coordinate event setup, production & load out while maintaining high standards for safety, quality & client satisfaction
  • - Drive & safely maneuver a 26 foot box truck through Portland streets, tight loading areas, alleys & other challenging access points
  • - Load & unload event equipment & personally participate in setup, teardown and other physical aspects of event production
  • - Work directly with clients, venues, vendors, operations personnel & field crews to ensure expectations are met
  • - Assess changing conditions & solve problems in real time, making sound decisions while keeping safety, quality & the overall event objective in view
REQUIREMENTS
  • - HSD/GED
  • - 3 to 5 years experience in event production, construction, field operations, installation, logistics or a comparable hands-on environment
  • - 1 year experience leading crews, teams or temporary labor in a field environment
  • - Demonstrated experience driving a 26 foot box truck or comparable commercial vehicle & experience towing trailers
  • - Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
  • - Strong problem solving & decision-making skills to navigate unexpected challenges when they surface
  • - Strong communication, customer service & interpersonal skills, including patience & diplomacy
  • - A valid driver's license & can meet WCEP's insurance requirements
  • - Flexible availability, including early mornings, late nights, weekends & some days requiring more than 8 hours
  • - This employer will perform a background & drug check
PREFERENCES
  • - 1 year of project management experience
  • - 1 year of experience in event production, tent installation, stage assembly or related field
  • - Experience with forklifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts or comparable equipment
  • - 6 months experience reading contracts, drawings, and/or blueprints; CAD
