Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Labor Crew Chief II to support the Field Operations and Operations Supervisors in day-to-day operational services. The role includes leading crews responsible for daily solid waste collection, special services, yard waste, bulky items, and CATS Goldline.

The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work night shifts, and a valid CDL with city permit eligibility. Schedule: 3rd Shift.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to obtain a City Driver’s Permit and a Class A or B CDL.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, or other unusual hours for special events or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• The Labor Crew Chief II serves in an operational team lead capacity under the Field Operations Supervisor.
• Assists in supervision of crews for daily solid waste collection including special services, yard waste and bulky items.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Solid Waste practices and coordinates crew activities within guidelines.
