Job summary

City of Charlotte is seeking a Labor Crew Chief II in the Belmont area for 3rd shift, supervising crews involved in solid waste collection, yard waste, and special services. The role requires strong communication, safety focus, and ability to lead field teams during night shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Emerald & Kronos.
• Ability to obtain a City Driver’s Permit.
• Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, or other unusual hours in support of operations or emergencies.
• Must be able to perform outdoor duties in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision of crews performing daily solid waste collection.
• Coordinate crew activities and ensure safety standards are met.
• Prepare and maintain operational and administrative reports.
• Provide training and guidance to field staff as needed.
